Lady Patriots have win three against 7A schools

The Lady Patriots played four challenging games last week, three against 7A teams. Danville won its sole game over the past seven days. Falkville and Priceville remained idle due to field conditions.
Sparkman 15, Brewer 11 Brewer had a 10-run third inning in a loss to the Senators Feb. 17 The inning included a threerun homer by Braelynn Reed. She also had a good eye at the plate as she walked twice. Anton, Hamilton, Staton and Watson each had two hits. Seven Patriots would record runs, and Brewer outhit Sparkman, amassing 12 hits.
Brewer 2, James Clemens 2
The Patriots opened up Saturday against James Clemens. They tied the Jets 1-1 in the first inning after Lucas scored on a Rusk single to center field. Rusk reached home plate after Staton hit a line drive to the outfield, taking the lead for Brewer. James Clemens scored a run in the top of the 5th to solidify the tie.
Huntsville 5, Brewer 1 Pellam scored a run from third base off of a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the second to tie the game at one against the Panthers. Huntsville then scored four runs over the next two innings. Four Patriots recorded hits against Huntsville. Rusk had two, including a double. Pellam, Staton and Summerford collected one hit each.
Brewer 13, Russellville 0
The Patriots closed Saturday’s games well with a win in a three-inning shutout over the Golden Tigers, thanks to a great all-around effort from the whole team. Gracie Lawrence and Grace Maddux only allowed for one hit between them. Abby Summerford batted in four runners on three hits, including a 2-run shot to center field. Makenzie Irmen also had an RBI off of a triple. Eight Patriots recorded runs, with seven with knocks of their own.
Danville 15, Meek 4 Danville kept the scorekeeper busy Feb. 18 in an 11-run win over Meek. Five Hawks recorded doubles, including Ellie Tucker, with two. Danville ran circles around the Tigers, racking up nine stolen bases. Hutto, Robinson, and Reed all hit home runs. Tamara Hutto also contributed for Danville inside the circle, where she pitched a complete game and seven strikeouts.
