Falkville A funeral service for Kenneth Dale Free, Sr., 71, of Falkville, was held Friday, February 21, 2025, at 3:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Brian Murphy officiating. Military honors were provided by the United States Army. Mr. Free, who was born September 17, 1953, in Falkville, Alabama to Truman Clyde “Pet” Free and Magaline Laverne Brown Free, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his home in Falkville. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He retired from the Copeland Corporation in Hartselle where he worked in the maintenance department. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His pride and joy were his five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who will carry forward his enduring spirit and kindness. He was preceded in death by his parents whose guiding influence shaped the remarkable life he led. Survivors Include his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Lindsey Free; two sons, Dale Free (Jainnie), Chris Free (Christy); Three brothers, Philip Free, Joe Free and Ronald Free; three sisters, Brenda Adamson, Shirley Posey and Connie Bailey; five grandchildren, Weston Free (Snezhana), Sidney Free, Abigail Mann (Nicholas), Nathan Free (Katelynn) and Aydan Free; and great-granddaughter, Gwendalen Mann.
