Jennifer Murphy Cowen

Decatur A graveside funeral service and interment for Jennifer Murphy Cowen, 73, was held Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Roselawn Cemetery with Geoff Halbrooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Cowen passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at her residence. She was born September 29, 1951, in Morgan County, to Clyde Buford Murphy, Jr. and Frances Beatrice Hargitt Murphy. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Dr. Brown as an LPN. She loved her family dearly, enjoyed gospel music, and she loved dogs. Mrs. Cowen was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Jeanette Glasscock. Survivors include her husband, William Roy “Son” Cowen, Jr.; her son, Jonathan Cowen (Leslie); and her sister, Janice Coleman. Pallbearers were family and friends.
