Traffic stop leads to drug trafficking arrests in Priceville

A traffic stop in Priceville led to the discovery of a fentanyllaced methamphetamine stash and the arrest of two Decatur residents on drug trafficking charges, police said. AccordingtothePriceville Police Department, officers conducted the stop at approximately 7:15 p.m. Feb. 11 in the 150 block of Highway 67 due to improper lights and improper lane usage. Upon making contact with the driver and passenger, officers observed several signs of potential criminal activity. PPD’s K9 Unit responded to the scene, and a narcotics field investigation ensued. Police said the search uncovered a quantity of methamphetamine mixed with fentanyl inside the vehicle. The driver, 26-year-old Norberto Montalban-Nava, was arrested and charged with trafficking illegal drugs, along with multiple driving offenses. Nava has a prior criminal history that includes burglary and drug trafficking charges, authorities said. His bond was set at $151,200. The passenger, 24-yearold Luciana Ramiro Guarda, was also arrested on a charge of trafficking illegal drugs. Police said she had active warrants through Decatur Police. Her bond was set at $150,000, with an immigration hold placed on her case. Both suspects were transported to the Morgan County Jail, where they remain in custody.
