Frigid temperatures ahead, with wintry mix Wednesday morning
Wednesday and Thursday nights are predicted to have wind chills in the single digits and there is a chance of a wintry mix Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.
Monday highs are predicted to be in the 40s but dropping to the mid-20s overnight. Tuesday high temperatures are expected to be in the upper 40s but also dropping to the mid-20s overnight, according to NWS meteorologist Ashley Ravenscraft.
Ravenscraft said the highs Wednesday are expected to be in the 30s, but with the wind chill, the lows could be between 0 and 5 degrees.
“I’ve got some weather coming in that could bring some light snow into the area, or a light wintry mix early Wednesday morning. Looks like the time frame for that right now is probably going to be between midnight and 10 a.m.,” she said. “It looks like it’s going to be a very early Wednesday thing. So, folks on their morning commute are definitely going to have to watch out for the roads.”
Thursday is not expected to get out of the 20s, with wind chill lows once again expected in the single digits, Ravenscraft said.
Friday is expected to have highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s. Temperatures are projected to warm up for the weekend with highs in the 40s and lows just below freezing, Ravenscraft said.
