Patriots stay alive, advance to regionals

The Brewer Patriots kept their season alive with a furious second half comeback on Saturday at West Point. The Patriots trailed by as many as 19 points in the third quarter before closing the game on a 32-8 run.
Jackson Dunn led Brewer with 29 points. Austyn Holmes added 12 points, six rebounds and five assists.
The win gives Brewer (24-6) a trip to the 5A Northwest Regional at Wallace State. They will face Arab (15-16) on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
The Patriots and Arab met twice in the regular season with Brewer winning both games. The Patriots enter the game having won eight of their last ten games, while the Knights have gone five and five.
Earlier this week, Brewer fell 71-55 to East Limestone in the 5A Area 16 Championship game.
Holmes led the Patriots with 17 points, two assists and two steals. Dunn added 16 points, six rebounds and three assists. Cam Ballinger had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.
