Hallie Ransome ‘Ranny’ Lott
Texas Hallie Ransome Lott (“Ranny”), age 80, passed away Sunday January 26, 2025.
He was born in Decatur, AL December 12, 1944, and resided in Houston, TX since 1974. Growing up, “Ranny” went to school in Hartselle, AL and graduated from Morgan County High School in 1963. He worked at the Alabama State Highway Department for several years running heavy equipment building roads and bridges. Seeking better opportunities, he permanently moved to Houston, TX in 1974, working with underground water & sewer excavation, running heavy equipment/ foremen in the Houston area for several years. “Ranny” was a Christian who enjoyed being with family, loved fishing “his favorite Bass fishing” and loved his football team, Auburn University. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Ransome Lott Jr. and Lois Claire (late Paul) Strong (nee Grisham, Lott), and one granddaughter, Destiny Michelle Lee. “Ranny” is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Bolan Lott; children, Joshua C. (Heather), Misty, Christina Danielle, Carmen L.; grandchildren, Meagan, Brandi, Page, Tabitha, Cain Joshua, Jayden, Makiyah, Kalie, Skylar, Destiny Rose, Raelynn Grace; one sister, Margie (David) Suski; and special friends, Johnny Trimm, Charlie Goodwin and Charlie Chaney, as wells as numerous family members and many friends. A funeral service was held at Peck Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11am. Pallbearers were Daniel Johnson, Doug Suski, Danny Suski, Cain Lott, Warren Griffith, and Bill Grisham. Honorary Pallbearers were Dennis Griffith, Gorman Grisham, Steve Grisham, Johnny Trimm, Charlie Goodwin, Charlie Chaney, Charles Clemons and any members of the MCHS Class of’63. Burial was at Hartselle City Cemetery.
