Kenneth Gene Wilson
Hartselle A funeral service for Kenneth Gene Wilson, 78, was held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge Church of Christ in Baldwyn, Miss., with Tommy Wilson, Barry Kennedy, and Shawn Weaver officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Oak Ridge Church of Christ Cemetery. Mr. Wilson passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at his residence. He was born July 4, 1946, in Mississippi, to Jack Wilson and Irene Browder Wilson, who preceded him in death. He was the owner of Wilson Insurance Company where he worked in insurance sales until his retirement. He was a member of Decatur Church of Christ and a member of Hartselle Rotary Club, as well as the Million Dollar Round Table, which is insurance’s highest honor. Mr. Wilson was a long-time baseball coach in the Flint community; was the president of Danville QB Club from 1986-87; and was a proud member of the Wheeler Eagles Basketball and the Allstate Basketball team of 1964.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Karen Coats Wilson; sons, Steven Wilson (Tabitha) and Douglas Wilson (Sarah); sister, Brenda Pharr Jacobs (J.W.); three grandchildren, Kenneth “Casey” Wilson (Brandee), Lauren Leigh Wilson and Joshua D. Wilson; and one great grandchild, Caselynn River Wilson. Pallbearers were family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations please be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Dementia Society of America or Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
