Brewer repeats as county champions with big win over Priceville

The Brewer Patriots used a dominating performance to win their second consecutive Morgan County Tournament last Saturday. The Patriots defeated Priceville 64-43 to earn the title.
The two teams will meet on Saturday for the fourth time this season in the first round of the area tournament at East Limestone.
Championship
Brewer 64, Priceville 43 The Patriots jumped out to a 16-5 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 64-43 win over Priceville. Brewer, who defeated West Morgan in last year’s championship, left no doubt about who was the best team on the floor in dominating the Bulldogs.
Jackson Dunn scored 18 points, grabbed six rebounds, made three steals, and had two assists to lead the Patriots to victory. He was named the tournament MVP after his performance. Austyn Holmes added 17 points, four assists, and two steals.
Luke Hood finished with 21 points, four rebounds and two assists to lead Priceville.
The Morgan County All-County Team included Dunn, Holmes, Cason Oden from Brewer and Hood, Sammy Holmes and Colman Gann from Priceville.
Semifinals
Brewer 61, Danville 28 Top-seeded Brewer cruised to a 61-28 victory over Danville in the semifinals of the Morgan County Tournament. The Patriots, who led 27-16 at the half, outscored Danville 34-12 in the second half to secure the victory and advance to the championship game.
Jackson Dunn finished with 18 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists to lead Brewer. Cam Ballinger added 15 points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists. Ben Ellenburg led Danville with eight points.
Priceville 59, West Morgan 57 The Bulldogs closed the game with an 11-0 run to defeat West Morgan in the Morgan County Tournament semifinals. The Rebels led 57-48 before the Priceville comeback. Luke Hood led the Bulldogs with 20 points, while Sammy Holmes added 12.
Quarterfinal
Danville 52, Falkville 43 The Danville Hawks overcame a double-digit deficit with less than four minutes remaining to defeat the Falkville Blue Devils 52-43 in the quarterfinals of the Morgan County Tournament. Jace Glenn and Ellenburg each scored 12 points to lead the Hawks.
Eli Harris led the Blue Devils with 12 points, while Cayden Butler had 11.
