Hartselle A funeral service for Carl E. Smith, 94, was held Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Long and Bro. Jerry Chenault officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Smith died on Monday, January 13, 2025, at his residence. He was born November 15, 1930, in Morgan County to Edward Ester Smith and Bessie Lee Vest Smith. Carl Smith was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved camping, fishing, gardening and hunting. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, and he proudly served in the army during the Korean War. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mildred Smith. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Smith; daughter, Kathy Graves (Larry); and grandchild, Megan Graves. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
