Hartselle A funeral service for Shirley McCurry, 82, was held Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim McCormick officiating. Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery. Mrs. McCurry passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born August 18, 1942, in Morgan County, to Barney L. Maples and Lois Owens Maples. She was self-employed as a hairdresser for 60+ years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy McCurry; and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughters, Phyllis Lawrence (Billy), Cissy McCurry (Rick), Connie Hall (Kenny), a son, Mike McCurry (Bill); a brother, Bobby Maples; a sister, Doris Blankenship (Tommy); a sister-in-law, Linda Maples, six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kenny Hall, Josh Hall, Tim Maples, Jimmy Lawrence, Nicholas Lawrence, and Cody Kelsoe.
