Feeding Families of Alabama to focus on food pantry
Special thanks and appreciation are extended to Edee Grun for her tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to helping families in need through Feeding Families of Alabama.
As the year begins, Edee takes time to reflect on the organization’s mission and impact. She reviews the services provided to the community and evaluates how they can make improvements. This year, Edee and her team have made the decision to streamline their operations and focus on their core mis-sion: being a Food Pantry. They will be scaling back on extra events and initiatives, dedicating all of their energy and resources toward providing food assistance to those who need it most. As part of this shift, Edee announced that they will not be holding the 2025 Christmas Shop, choosing instead to invest that time and effort directly into the food pantry.
In addition to these changes, Edee is also focused on improving the efficiency of the food distribution process. One of the biggest challenges they faced last year was the long wait times for clients, and they are committed to addressing this in 2025 to ensure a smoother and quicker experience for those seeking help.
The first quarter of the year is traditionally a time when donations are at their lowest, so Edee expresses a special need for donations of unopened and unexpired food items. Some of the most needed items include cereals, oatmeal, pancake mix, peanut butter, jelly, and dried pinto beans. Household essentials such as laun-dry detergent, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, and deodorant are also greatly appreciated.
Edee extends her heartfelt thanks to everyone who supports the mission of Feeding Families of Alabama, wishing all a Happy New Year and looking forward to another year of service to the community.
