Lady Tigers fall to Vestavia Hills in battle of top ranked teams

The Hartselle Lady Tigers traveled to Vestavia Hills for a matchup with the No. 3 team in 7A. It was a tight game for three quarters before the Lady Rebels pulled away in the fourth quarter for the victory. Vestavia Hills jumped out to an 11-7 lead following the first quarter. Defense dominated the second quarter as the two teams combined for just five points. The Lady Rebels led 13-10 at halftime. The Lady Tigers remained close with Vestavia Hills in the third but trailed 24-19 going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Rebels dominated the final eight minutes, outscoring Hartselle 17-7 to get the 41-26 victory. Hannah Burks led the Lady Tigers with 11 points, six rebounds and two steals. Anna Hampton Burroughs added nine points, four rebounds and two assists, while Mary Francis Itsede had six points and eight rebounds.
