Hartselle man reported missing after leaving Birmingham hospital
Hartselle police and the family of Robert William Witt, 40, are asking for the public’s help in locating him after he was reported missing on Jan. 2.
Witt, who stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 140 pounds and has brown eyes, short brown hair and a full beard with some white, was last seen at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham. He was transported there from Hartselle seeking medical attention. However, Witt left the hospital against medical advice shortly after being admitted according to Hartselle police.
Family members have expressed concern for Witt’s safety due to his medical condition and the current winter weather conditions. Although his clothing at the time is unknown, he may have been wearing cowboy boots. His last known location was in the Jefferson County area, but it is believed he could be attempting to return to his home in Hartselle.
