Tigers losing streak extends to four

The Hartselle Tigers saw their losing streak extend to four following their 58-56 loss on the road at Homewood this past Friday. The Tigers jumped out to a 21-4 lead late in the first quarter before Homewood closed the quarter on a 7-2 run to make the score 23-11 going into the second quarter. The Patriots outscored Hartselle 20-12 in the second quarter to go into the half trailing 35-31. Homewood opened the third quarter with a 7-0 run to take a 38-35 lead before the Tigers put points on the board. Hartselle outscored the Patriots 11-8 the rest of the quarter to make the score 46-46 going into the final quarter. The Tigers opened the final quarter with an 8-0 run to take a 54-46 lead. Unfortunately, Homewood dominated the rest of the game by going on a 12-2 run to close out the game and get the two point victory. Ty Odom led Hartselle (9-10) with 20 points, while Gray Bennich had 19 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Hudson Buckelw added eight points and four assists. Rhett Boys had seven points and five rebounds. Reed Springer added six rebounds and four assists.
