Decatur A funeral service for Gayle Terry, 85, was held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at No Fences Cowboy Church with Bro. Josh Sparkman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery. Mrs. Terry died on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Decatur-Morgan Hospital. She was born Monday, December 11, 1939, in Morgan County, to Coleman D. Holmes and Joyce Marie Holmes. She was employed as a Drapery Seamstress prior to her retirement. She attended No Fences Cowboy Church. She Co-Owned “The Children’s Shop” with her sister, Betty. She enjoyed making custom clothing, draperies and interiors, which she did for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ottis Turrentine and Alton Terry; her parents; and her sister, Betty Depriest. Survivors include her sons, Shannon Turrentine, and Patrick (Jeana) Turrentine; her sister, Jane (Frank) Harrison; grandchildren, Garrett (Sarah) Turrentine, Chad (Faith) Girado, Katie (Logan) Laney; god-children, Jansen (Hannah) Turrentine, and Cody (Rachel) Turrentine; great grandchildren, Lilly Virginia Turrentine, Ellie Girado Jackson, Kate Turrentine, Grace Girado, and Noah Laney; and four nieces she loved deeply. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the No Fences Cowboy Church in Falkville.
