Deloice Fay Gaston Sanford
Hartselle Funeral services for Deloice Fay Gaston Sanford, 86, of Hartselle, were held Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Gordon officiating. Burial followed at Mount Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Sanford died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at Riverside Assisted Living. She was born Dec. 13, 1938, in Franklin County to Rayburn Russell Gaston and Ruth Netherine Manley Gaston. A Christian and longtime member of West Hartselle Baptist Church, she taught Bible School for 45 years and served as the nursery and preschool director for 31 years. She graduated from Mt. Hope High School in 1957.
Mrs. Sanford was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking for others and serving her community. She spent her final years at Riverside Senior Living in Decatur, where she was cared for by the staff and Hospice of the Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ray Gaston.
Survivors include her husband, Charles William Sanford; daughters, Sandy Standridge (Terry), Cindy Ulrich (Joe), and Charlice LaFavor (Willie); grandchildren, George Ulrich, Russell Standridge (Kalee), and Andy LaFavor (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Conner Ulrich and Sadie Standridge; nieces, LaShun Daniel, Sharon Holyoak, Tammy Sanford, and Lisa Sanford; and nephew, Shane Gaston.
Pallbearers were Jon Anderson, Andy LaFavor, Conner Ulrich, Brent Eaton, Russell Standridge, and Jeff Woodruff. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
