Robert “Bob” Dare Sittason, III
Hartselle Funeral service for Robert Dare Sittason III, 63, will be Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 3:00 PM at First Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Pope and Barry Dunn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednes-day from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home. Robert “Bob” Dare Sittason III, age 63, passed away peacefully at his residence, surrounded by family, on December 14, 2024. Born in Morgan County in 1961 to Robert Dare Sittason Jr. and Wendellyn Gray Sittason, Bob graduated from Morgan County High School and the University of Alabama. He began his career in public accounting before transitioning to private industry, where he served as the Accounting and Finance Manager of Hartselle Utilities in 2004, later becoming General Manager in 2012, where he served until his retirement in October 2024. Faith, family and community service were at the core of Bob’s life. He married his beloved wife, Daphne Jill Raley, in 1986. A lifelong member of First Methodist Church, Bob passionately served his church and community through various organizations and committees, including the Hartselle Rotary Club, the Morgan County Sports Hall of Fame and Hartselle Camp Meeting. For 29 years, he was the voice of the Hartselle Tigers, a role he cherished deeply. Bob loved hunting, fishing and supporting Alabama Athletics. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert Dare Sittason Jr. and Wendellyn Gray Sittason. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Daphne Raley Sittason; two daughters, Raley Sittason Cook (Levi) and Madeline Sittason Smith (Daniel); three grandchildren, Gilbert Levi Cook IV and Robert Jackson Cook, and Bryar Dare Smith; two brothers, Randall Gray Sittason and David Bryant Sittason (Jennifer); and four nieces and nephews, Payton Bryant Sittason (Bradee) and daughter Sutton, Grayson Blair Sittason (Sloan) and son Grayson, Sloan Golden Sittason (Dolan) and son Owen, and Wendellyn Grace Sittason. Bob will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests honoring Bob’s memory through contributions to First Methodist Church in Hartselle, the ALS Clinic (Crestwood Medical Center-Huntsville, AL), or Hospice of the Valley. Pallbearers will be Kevin Corum, Greg Clemons, Steve Hargrove, Jeff Johnston, Kent Quinn, Kelly Russell, Mike Shirey and Andy Vest. Honorary pallbearers will be Walton Ashwander, Charley Cain, Reggie Corum, Harry Little, Mike Reeves, Jerry Templeton and Glenn Thompson.
