Patriots continue hot start to season

The Brewer Patriots continued their impressive start to the season as they improved to 10-1 with wins over West Point and Ardmore. On the girls’ side, Priceville picked up two wins last week including their second area win.
Brewer 59, Ardmore 33 The Patriots (10-1, 1-0) picked up an area win by defeating Ardmore 55-33 last Friday. Cason Oden finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds and two steals, while Jackson Dunn added 11 points. Brewer 61, West Point 54 Austyn Holmes finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals to lead Brewer to a 61-54 win over West Point. Jackson Dunn added 16 points and eight rebounds. Priceville 84, Clements 48 Colman Gann and Sammy Holmes each had 21 points to lead Priceville to an 84-48 win over Clements. Gann had seven rebounds, while Holmes had six steals and five rebounds. Luke Hood added 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
East Limestone 64, Priceville 45 Gann had 12 points and seven rebounds in an area loss to East Limestone. Hood, Holmes and Caleb Lawrence each had seven points. Lawrence added seven rebounds, while Hood had five. Danville 71, East Lawrence 44 Danville’s Ty Bailey finished with 25 points, 12 of which came on 3s, for the Hawks. Makih Boyd added 14 points. Brylan White led the Eagles with 14 points, while Keshaun Kingston chipped in 10.
Falkville 48, Winston County 34 Eli Harris finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds in an area win over Winston County. Lincoln Jones added 11 points and six rebounds, while Cayden Butler had 10 points.
Falkville 68, Cherokee 49 Harris and Butler each had 17 points in Falkville’s win over Cherokee. Harris added six rebounds and three steals, while Butler had five rebounds and two steals.
Girls Priceville 66, East Limestone 32 Leah Childress finished 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists and six steals to lead Priceville to an area win over East Limestone. Lillyan Bloodworth added 11 points, five assists and four rebounds. Priceville 60, Cullman 55 Childress had 25 points, three rebounds and three assists to lead Priceville to a 60-55 win over Cullman. Josie Childress added 12 points and four rebounds. Danville 46, West Morgan 39 (OT) Maddie Sherrill finished with 13 points and seven rebounds to lead Danville to an overtime area win over West Morgan. Adily Alberti added 12 points and six steals, while Aubrey Reed had 15 rebounds.
East Lawrence 44, Danville 43 Addison Prater finished with a double-double, 14 points and 12 rebounds, in Danville’s heartbreaking area loss to East Lawrence. Alberti added 15 points and 7 rebounds, while Reed had 6 points and 15 rebounds.
Ardmore 58, Brewer 37 Andee Emerson finished with nine points,five rebounds and two steals in Brewer’s area loss to Ardmore. Madisyn Freeman added eight points, while Khloe Grandstaff had six points, five rebounds, three assists.
West Point 66, Brewer 36 Hannah Morrison finished with nine points, eight rebounds and two blocks in the Lady Patriots loss to West Point. Lauryn Owen added seven points and four rebounds.
