Jimmy (Jim) Vandiver

Decatur Funeral service for Jimmy (Jim) Vandiver, 81, was held Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Leighton, AL.

Mr. Vandiver passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, at his residence. He was born Feb. 19, 1943, in Colbert County to James Newton Vandiver and Laura Beatrice Hargis Vandiver. Jim was a self-employed truck driver before his retirement. Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Renee Castle Vandiver; two sons, Clifton Ray Vandiver and Randy Wayne Vandiver; and a brother, Ronnie Vandiver. Survivors include wife, Faith Vandiver; son, Eric Barnes; brothers, Verdell Vandiver and Verbon Vandiver; sisters, Vadra Ayers, Hassie Waldrep, and Jean Logan. Pallbearers will be Eric Barnes, Jeremy Houston, Jackson Houston, Derrick Brown, Maurice Logan and Houston Brown.
