Falkville students celebrate Spirit of Christmas
The Falkville High School National Honor Society has announced its ’12 Days of Christmas Dress-Up Days.’ The dress-up days will be held Dec. 2-6, Dec. 9-13, and Dec. 16-17.
Meanwhile, students at Falkville Elementary School are also participating in their own ’12 Days of Christmas Spirit’ dress-up days, set for Dec. 5-6, Dec. 9-13 and Dec. 16-19.
Falkville Spelling Bee winners Congratulations to Falkville High School’s spelling bee winners: Reagan Childers, first place, and Brodie Clark, second place. They will go on to represent Falkville High School at the Morgan County Spelling Bee.
Falkville Fire and Rescue activities Falkville Fire and Rescue had a busy November, responding to 64 calls for service, including 39 EMS calls, seven motor vehicle accidents, six residential fires, three passenger vehicle fires, two electrical issues, two lift assists, one entrapment, one shooting, one trash fire, one weather-related incident, and one other. The depart-ment had no missed calls and achieved a 100 percent response rate. The department also handled 17 mutual aid calls.
In addition to their call response, Falkville Fire and Rescue became licensed as an ALS 2 provider, provided EMS standby for Falkville High School football games, completed Firefighter I training, completed an Emergency Vehicle Driver course and participated in Mobile Driver Simulator training.
The Carpenter’s Cabinet The Carpenter’s Cabinet continues to serve the families of South Morgan County. Annual Polar Express Day The William Bradford Huie Library in Hartselle will host its Annual Polar Express Day on Friday, Dec. 20, at 3 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to wear their coziest pajamas and join in a fun read-aloud storytime, complete with hot cocoa, cookies, and a special visitor.
