Morgan County Sheriff’s Office holds food drive
Special to the Enquirer
The holiday season got off to a giving start Nov. 16 as the annual MCSO food drive officially launched at Walmart in Hartselle. Volunteers and organizers gathered early to kick off the collection, which will continue throughout the holiday season.
This year, the food drive is aiming to collect a wide range of non-perishable food items, toiletries and other essential goods to support two important causes in the community. All donations will be distributed between the local domestic violence shelter and nearby food banks to help those in need during the winter months.
Volunteers will be stationed at the Walmart entrance throughout the next several weeks, encouraging shoppers to contribute. Items collected will be sorted and distributed in time for the holidays, ensuring that those who need help the most can access it.
Residents are encouraged to drop off donations at the Walmart location, and also to spread the word about the drive’s mission to help local shelters and food banks.
