Huntsville A memorial service for David A. Jones, 92, was held Monday, November 18,2024, at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Decatur, with Rev. Alex Beaube officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No visitation is scheduled. Mr. Jones died on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home. He was bom December 29, 1931, in Jefferson County, to David Augustus Jones, Sr. and Zelon Marylou Bailey Jones. He was employed by Boeing, working restricted duty jobs, prior to his retirement. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
He was a loving husband, father and dedicated family man. He enjoyed family and friends and spending time on the water. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Owen Rushing Jones. Survivors include his wife, Jean R. Jones; sons, Marshall Jones, James Jones, Bill Jones; brother, Bob Jones; sister, Carolyn Wheeling; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
