Being thankful
In John 17 we are given an example prayer by Jesus that shows us many things for which we should be thankful. The entire chapter is about Jesus being thankful for the things God has done things that we can still be thankful for today. In verses 1-5 we can see how we should be thankful we have Jesus and that He gives us eternal life. In verses 6-20 we see that Jesus prayed for His disciples and all those who would believe because of them. This means Jesus prays for us how thank ful should we be for that?
These verses also remind us that He gave us The Word and we should be beyond thankful for that. We also learn toward the end of the chapter that if we have the love of God, Jesus lives in us. These are all things that we know, but are we thankful for them, do we think about them? During this holiday season let’s remember to be thankful for all that God does for us. Happy Thanksgiving!
