Lady Hawks defeat Covenant Christian, Lawrence County

The Danville Lady Hawks picked up two wins last week with victories over Covenant Christian and Lawrence County.
Danville 53, Covenant Christian 19 Addison Prater had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead the Lady Hawks to their second win of the season. Adily Alberti added 12 points and six rebounds, while Lanie Martin added 10 points and four steals.
Danville 55, Lawrence County 44 Alberti led the Lady Hawks to a 55-44 win over Lawrence County, scoring 26 points. She also had seven steals and five rebounds. Prater finished with 11 points, four rebounds and three steals, while Aubrey Reed finished with eight points, five rebounds and three steals.
Priceville 56, Decatur 46 The Lady Bulldogs moved to 2-1 with a 56-46 win over Decatur this past Tuesday. Leah Childress led Priceville with 17 points, nine assists and five rebounds. Madelyn Willams and Amberleigh Dean had 10 points each.
Bob Jones 54, Priceville 41 Priceville dropped the final game of the Lady Bulldogs Classic 54-41 to 7A Bob Jones. Childress had 18 points and four assists. Lillyan Bloodworth added six points.
Meek 36, Falkville 28 The Lady Blue Devils fell to Meek 36-28 to open the season. Leah Pierce finished with 20 points in the loss.
Boys Danville 38, Covenant Christian 29 The Hawks earned the first win of the Samuel Wallace era with a 38-29 victory over Covenant Christian. Makih Boyd led the way with a game-high 20 points.
Falkville 49, Meek 41 The Blue Devils picked up their first win of the season after defeating Meek 49-41. Cayden Butler scored a game-high 17 points to lead the team. Lincoln Jones added a double-double, 10 points and 10 rebounds.
