Falkville enters the season with seven newcomers to the varsity including five freshmen and sophomores. They move into a new area with Cold Springs and Winston County.
Who do you expect to have a big year? Leah Pierce is the hardest working player that I have coached over the years. She is a true gym rat. She is always in the weight room or in the gym working on her skills. Leah led us in scoring last year as an 8th grader. I look for her to be a big part of our success this season.
Quoting coach: “We have lost a lot of experience over the last couple of years. Last year we graduated four seniors with two of them being 4+ year starters. We have some experience returning, but we will be young for the most part. I need to see how the young players will respond and adapt to the speed of varsity games? ” What do the Blue Devils need to do to be successful? Pay attention to the details each and everyday. Young players need to step up and make the transition to varsity level play really quick.
Area outlook: “Being in a three team area is new to us in basketball. We have Cold Springs and Winston County. Cold Springs is always a top 2A team in the state and Winston County has always been real competitive year in and year out. “
