Somerville man charged with rape, sodomy

A Somerville man indicted by a Morgan County grand jury on charges of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy was booked into jail Nov. 3.

Kenneth Dwight Sylvester, 53, remained in the Morgan County Jail last week with no bond pending an Aniah’s Law hear ing.

Sylvester’s May 1 indictment charges him with rape and sodomy “by forcible com pulsion.” Each charge is a Class A felony punishable by up to life in prison. Court records show a warrant for his arrest was issued May 30.
