Happy holidays from the William Bradford Huie Library of Hartselle. We are ready for a great holiday season! In addition to our weekly and monthly activities, we have several special events planned throughout November and December.
November
Thanksgiving Kids Craft
Nov. 4 at 5 p.m.
This free event is for children ages 5 to 10. Sign up is required by Nov. 1.
Bobby the Balloon Guy from Balloonmasterz
Nov. 8 @ 10:30 a.m.
You may remember Bobby from last summer during our Summer Reading Program. His interactive story telling was amazing! This time he will perform his interactive balloon show that includes a combination of comedy, music, magic and, of course, balloons! This is a great family show. I hope you make plans to attend. (Parents this is a virtual school day!)
Adult Book Club
Nov. 18 @ 5 p.m.
This will be the last time the book club meets in 2024. The next meeting will be in January 2025!
December
Kids Christmas Art Class
Dec. 2 @ 5 p.m.
This is my favorite kid’s art class for the entire year! There will be several projects for the kids to do. This is a free event. Sign up is required by 10 a.m. on the day of the event.
Adult Craft Class Swedish Advent Star
Dec. 9 @ 5 p.m.
This is a beautiful woven star. Once you learn the technique, they are easy to make. I have used them as ornaments and given them as gifts. This is a free event for adults and teens. Sign-up is required by Dec. 6.
Taylor Swift Party
Dec. 16 @ 5 p.m.
This for all age groups who enjoy all things Taylor Swift! Come join us for music, crafts, books and activities.
Polar Express Day
Dec. 20 @ 3 p.m. One of our favorite programs all year! We will read the book Polar Express, enjoy a visit from Santa, then settle down for a snack and the Polar Express Movie. Parents you are welcome to take pictures of your children with our fantastic Santa. (Thank you, Mayor Garrison!)
We will be closed for the holidays:
Veterans Day: Nov. 11
Thanksgiving: Nov. 28-29
Christmas Eve & Christmas Day: Dec. 24-25
News Years Eve and New Year’s Day: Dec. 31-Jan. 1
We hope you and yours have a blessed holiday season. Look forward to seeing you at the library!
