Jerry Sharp

Hartselle Funeral service for Jerry Sharp, 83, was held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at New Center Baptist Church with Bro. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in New Center Cemetery. Mr. Sharp passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at his residence. He was born on September 25, 1941, in Morgan County to Bernam Loyd Sharp and I.B. Floyd Sharp. He was employed by the Decatur Police Department before joining the Morgan County Sheriff ‘s Department, where he retired. He was a member and deacon of New Center Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Sharp; and a sister, Helen Vaughn. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Blankenship Sharp; his son, Jonathan McKinley Sharp (Lisa); his grandchildren, Hunter Sharp (Danni), Kendall Sharp, Katie Sharp, Holden Sharp, and Brinley Sharp; and his great-grandchild, Luna Sharp. Pallbearers will be Hunter Sharp, Jon Sharp, Robert Hopper, Tyler Stinson, Cole Brown, and Tommy Adcock.
