Falkville secures playoff spot with shutout of Cleveland

The Falkville Blue Devils secured a playoff berth with a 44-0 win over Cleveland (2-6, 1-4) last Friday.
Landon Powers led the Blue Devils with 275 yards of total offense and four touchdowns in the region victory. He completed 10 of 19 passes for 167 yards, with a 24-yard touchdown to Logan Fowler, and ran for 108 yards and three touchdowns runs 29, 23 and 25 yards.
Denver Comstock added 14 carries for 78 yards and a touchdown, while Brodie Bennett had 64 yards on 10 carries. Derrick Woodruff finished with 21 yards rushing with an 11-yard touchdown run.
Eli Harris finished with 73 yards receiving on four catches while Fowler had three receptions for 59 yards.
Falkville’s defense held Cleveland to 130 total yards of offense and picked off four passes. Landen Horton, Christopher Jackson, Bennett and Harris each had an interception.
Falkville (4-4, 3-2) will travel to Cold Springs (4-5, 2-3) to close out region play on Friday.
