Volleyball: Priceville stays undefeated in area play

The Priceville Bulldogs finished the regular season undefeated in area play after defeating Ardmore and East Limestone last week.
On Oct. 8 the Lady Bulldogs defeated Ardmore 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 25-8) to wrap up the regu-lar season area title. Abby Langlois led the team with 12 kills, while Leah Childress added nine kills and 14 digs. Maddi Kennedy had 20 digs, while Josie Childress had 19 assists, eight digs and three aces, with Rachael Rotermund adding 10 digs, seven assists and three kills.
On Monday, Priceville defeated East Limestone 3-2 (23-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-12, 15-9). Langlois had 26 kills, six digs and four blocks, while Leah Childress had 24 kills and 18 digs. Kennedy added 24 digs, Josie Childress finished with 33 assists and a pair of kills and Rotermund had 23 assists and four kills.
Priceville will host the 5A Area 16 tournament on Wednesday. Hartselle The Lady Tigers split a trimatch in Muscle Shoals with the host Lady Trojans and Florence. Hartselle fell 3-0 to Muscle Shoals 3-0 in an area match, while defeating Florence 2-0.
Katie Gillott finished with 18 kills, 21 digs and five aces to lead the Lady Tigers. Maddy Johnson had 53 assists and 10 digs, while Lyndie Springer had 10 digs, three kills and two aces.
Hartselle will travel to Athens for the 6A Area 16 tournament on Thursday and open with Muscle Shoals.
