Prep football picks for week eight

Austin, Hartselle and West Morgan have clinched playoff spots for the upcoming postseason. However, they each have work to do to solidify their spot. Austin travels to James Clemens in a battle between the top two teams in 7A Region 4, while Hartselle hosts Jasper, who is coming off a 49-48 win over Muscle Shoals. West Morgan hosts Central in a battle between the top two teams in 4A Region 7. Falkville, who currently sits in a tie for third in 2A Region 6, welcomes Cleveland to town, while Decatur Heritage, tied for first in 2A Region 8, heads to Red Bay. Priceville, who is on the outside looking in and needs a lot of help to get back in the playoff hunt in 5A Region 7, travels to Lawrence County. Brewer and Danville will miss out on the playoffs, but both teams still have a chance to pick up a couple of wins to close out the season. The prep football picks return for a second season during the high school football season. Hartselle Enquirer’s sportswriter Russell Frye, along with Dakota Stewart and Priceville Bulldogs sports guru John Keahy, return for year number two. Decatur’s Nick Belovsky joins the picks team this season.
