Hartselle prepares for annual Christmas in the Park event at E.A.R.T.H. Park
As the holiday season approaches, the City of Hartselle is gearing up for one of its most beloved traditions, the annual Christmas in the Park event. The festivities will kick off with the tree lighting ceremony Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. at E.A.R.T.H. Park, where the community will come together to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
Sponsored by the Hartselle Beautification Association (HBA), this event transforms the park into a winter wonderland, featuring dozens of brightly decorated Christmas trees, each adorned by local businesses, organizations and families. The trees, standing 6 to 7 feet tall, will sparkle throughout the holiday season with lights and non-perishable decorations.
Sponsorship for each tree is $125, and all proceeds go to the HBA to support their beautification projects throughout Hartselle. Each tree will be labeled with a sign identifying its sponsor, included as part of the sponsorship fee. The trees must be decorated with non-perishable ornaments and equipped with a heavyduty outdoor extension cord for power. Participants are encouraged to submit their sponsorship forms and payments by Nov. 7 to secure their spot.
For those with a competitive spirit, there will also be a tree decorating contest. The deadline for decorations is 1 p.m. on November 16, with the winners to be announced later during the holiday season. The decorated trees will light up the park until January 5, 2025. Decorations should be removed by Jan. 10.
Anyone interested in sponsoring a tree can contact the Hartselle Beautification Association by visiting the Hartselle Municipal Building or emailing them at ourhba@gmail. com. Payments can be dropped off at City Hall or mailed to P.O. Box 804, Hartselle.
