Gerald (Jerry) D. Blankenship
Hartselle A memorial service will be held honoring Jerry Blankenship on October 19, 2024 at Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends and family at 1 p.m. Pastor Jonathan Todd will be officiating.
Jerry was born in Hartselle on May 5,1961 to Leon Blankenship and Jackie Vest Blankenship. He passed away on September 27, 2024, in Phoenix, Ariz. surrounded by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, his sister, Donna Cunningham (Randy) and a nephew, Andrew Cunningham. Also, aunts Gayle Lane, Faye Carey (Raymond) and one Uncle Dan Blankenship (Brenda) and a host of cousins and friends.
He grew up in Forrest Chapel and was baptized here. He had many friends at church and was involved in UMYF.
He graduated from Danville High School. He held a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.
He worked at many hospitals. He loved people and impacted many lives during his career. He was working at Arizona Spine Center at the time of his death.
He will be missed by so many.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forrest Chapel in his memory.
