Falkville Fall Festival to return Saturday
The Town of Falkville will host its Fall Festival on Oct. 12. This all-day event will feature numerous vendors, crafts, and plenty of delicious food. Live entertainment is also scheduled, with the lineup as follows: Dry Creek Bluegrass from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m., Luke Brooks from 9:05 to 9:45 a.m., The Bailey Mountain Boys from 9:50 to 11:00 a.m., Jonathan Ralf from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Duan Walker from 12:25 to 2:30 p.m.
The day will kick off at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Fire Department, followed by the Color Me Downtown 5K Walk/Run at 8 a.m. The Fall Festival will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring various attractions including a Kids Fun Zone from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., an Antique Tractor Show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and live entertainment from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A car show will also take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Tractor Parade is scheduled for noon, with tractor judging at 1 p.m. The festivities will conclude at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a wonderful day with family and friends in Falkville.
Danville Middle School activities
Danville Middle School is proud to announce its September Students and Teacher of the Month. Mrs. Bailey has been named Teacher of the Month. The Students of the Month are Bristol Braxton (5th grade), Maddie Lindsey (6th grade), Mackenzie Harris (7th grade), and Amelia Marriott (8th grade). Congratulations to all!
Falkville High School FFA announcement
The Falkville High School FFA is partnering with Convoy of Hope to create hurricane relief kits for families in need. The items needed for the kits are as follows: unopened toothbrushes, hand towels, toothpaste, 4-5 oz bars of soap, travel-sized shampoo, sanitary napkins, hair combs, regular-sized stick deodorants, a 100-count box of assorted bandages, a 32-80 count hand wipes pack, pocket-sized tissues, twogallon plastic bags, disposable razors, and washcloths. Please place these items in a cardboard box measuring 10 inches high by 16 inches wide by 20 inches long. Kits can be dropped off at the Falkville FFA in the AG Room. Individuals wishing to donate may also create their own relief kit box. The deadline for donations is Oct. 25. All support is greatly appreciated!
