Priceville wins first Morgan County tourney title

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs won their first ever Morgan County Tournament championship with a 2-0 victory over Austin in the championship game last Thursday at Austin. The victory over the Lady Black Bears was the first in three tries for Priceville.
The Lady Bulldogs opened pool play with a 2-0 loss to Austin, but then rebounded to defeat West Morgan and Falkville by 2-0 scores.
Priceville defeated Danville 2-0 in the semifinals to advance to the championship game and a rematch against Austin.
On Friday night, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Brewer 3-0 in an area match to improve to 34-7 on the season. Leah Childress led Priceville with 18 kills and 12 digs, while Abby Langlois added 16 kills and Maddi Kennedy had 17 digs. Rachel Rotermund finished with 22 assists, while Josie Childress added 14 assists.
Hartselle
The Lady Tigers finished 0-4 this week with losses to four of the top ten teams in 6A. They fell 3-0 on the road to Jasper on Tuesday before dropping three matches at home on Saturday to Hazel Green, Pelham and Mountain Brook.
Maddy Johnson finished with 83 assists and 14 digs to lead Hartselle (21-19). Mary Frances Itsede added 20 kills and 17 digs, while Katie Gillott had 25 kills and 19 digs. Lily Douglass had 12 kills.
Danville
The Lady Hawks finished 2-3 last week. They finished 2-2 at the Morgan County Tournament with 2-0 wins over Decatur and Decatur Heritage while dropping a 2-1 decision to Brewer and falling 2-0 to Priceville in the semifinals.
Earlier in the week they fell 3-0 to West Morgan in an area matchup.
Brewer
The Lady Patriots finished the week 3-3. They finished 2-1 at the Morgan County Tournament with wins over Danville (2-1) and Decatur Heritage (2-0) and fell to Decatur (2-0).
Earlier in the week they picked up a 3-2 area win over Ardmore and then got a 3-1 win over East Limestone before falling to Priceville 3-0 in an area matchup.
Falkville
The Lady Blue Devils finished the week 0-4 with losses to Lawrence County last Monday and then Priceville, West Morgan and Austin in the Morgan County Tournament last Thursday.
