Funeral service for Phillip Matthew “Thew” Stringer, 42, will be Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ted Vafeas officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home. Mr. Stringer passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born March 15, 1982, in Morgan County to Phillip Dale Stringer and Rebecca Ann Smallwood Stringer. Matt was a graduate of Hartselle High School, a good family man, and a wonderful father. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fiancée, Haley. He loved buying and selling gold and silver, was a die-hard Auburn fan, and enjoyed sports. He especially loved animals, including his dog “Patch,” cat “Cookie,” and his parents’ dog “Charlie.” He also loved hunting. He was employed by AZIZ Oil as a maintenance technician prior to his passing. Preceding him in death were his grandparents: Blanche Smallwood, Arthur Smallwood, Gertrude Chunn, and Orrin Stringer.
Survivors include his parents, Phillip and Becky Stringer; fiancée, Haley Vinson; five children, Makayla Shea Stringer, Jackson Matthew Stringer, Harrison Tate Stringer, Kallyn Matthew Stringer, and Mia Elizabeth Key; aunt and uncle, Tammy and Pat Bogle; Haley’s parents, Allen and Missy Vinson; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
