Falkville firefighter helps with hurricane relief efforts
Falkville Fire and Rescue member Jonathan Harkins is preparing to depart for Florida for the second time this year to assist with hurricane relief efforts. His fellow team members wish him safe travels as he continues his commitment to helping those in need.

kins recently attended the Water on the Fire Conference in Pensacola, Florida, where he learned valuable techniques from instructors across the country. His training allows him to bring new knowledge and skills back to his department. Gay completed a 40-hour Technical Rescue Personnel course, which included Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Operations, and Technician training. This certification will enable him to help train others and enhance the department’s preparedness. In addition, Falkville Fire and Rescue Firefighter/ AEMT Nate McCarley recently passed the National Registry Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) test, officially becoming a State-licensed AEMT. McCarley dedicated numerous hours to training and clinical experience to achieve this certification. The department expresses gratitude for his hard work and commitment to serving the community.
Danville Middle School celebrates student achievements Danville Middle School congratulates several students for their recent accomplishments in the Harmony Invitational XC Meet. Emma Brooks placed 9th in the JV Girls race, while Amilia Marriott secured 3rd place, and Graysi Vest finished in 2nd place. Additionally, 8th grader Isaac Johnson took 1st place in the JV Boys race.
Danville Neel Elementary School news Students at Danville Neel Elementary, from kindergarten through 4th grade, recently enjoyed a visit from special guest speaker James Spann. The school extends its thanks to Mr. Spann for his time, as well as to Mouth of the South Studios for their fantastic sign and to Farm Fresh Cookies by Hunter for the delicious treats.
