Teresa Houser Pyke
Somerville Funeral services for Teresa Houser Pyke, 62, was held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Somerville Church of God, with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Somerville Church of God Cemetery.
Teresa passed away on September 16, 2024, just one month shy of her 63rd birthday, after a long battle with melanoma and glioblastoma. She was born on October 16, 1961, to James Quentin Houser and Margaret Garrison Houser.
Teresa previously worked as a quality control supervising specialist with SES, overseeing government contracts for Black Hawk helicopters. An artist and photographer with an eye for detail, she loved traveling and was fortunate to visit many global destinations. Teresa was a graduate of Brewer High School, and she loved her family and animals deeply. She was affectionately known as T, Sessa, and Angel Mom by those closest to her.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Quentin Houser; her stepfather, J.L. Lemmond; and her nephew, Keith Fowler.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Pyke; her son, Jordan Gregory Pyke; her daughter, Kendal Jade Pyke; her grandson, Quentin Carter Pyke; her mother, Margaret Garrison Houser Lemmond; her sisters, Linda Fowler (Mike), Pat Grantland (Donnie), and Wanda McKinney (Harold); and her stepbrother, Bradley Lemmond (Tim).
She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Kym Simonis, Angela Brown, Jason Golden, Brandon Blagburn, Jarod Grantland, and Katie Bonar; great-nieces and nephews, Quintin Golden, Hunter Griffin, Abby McCormick, Nichole Griffin, Cailyn Simonis, Delany Simonis, Blakely Bonar, Parker Smith, Henry Grantland, Beckham Bonar, Elenor Grantland, Jacee May, Mikayla Martin, and Destiny Martin; and great-greatnephews, Frederick McCormick, and great-great-niece, Ensley Grace Griffin.
Pallbearers will be Jason Golden, Brandon Blagburn, Jimmy Gildow, Koltar Houser, Kenny Houser, and Jarod Grantland. Honorary pallbearers include Mike Fowler, Donnie Grantland, Harold McKinney, Hunter Griffin, Quentin Golden, Beckham Bonar, Henry Grantland, Keith Fowler, Conan Houser, Larry Pyke, and Thomas Gravely.
