Town of Falkville gears up for fall festival
The Town of Falkville is excited to share details about their upcoming events. Oct. 12 at 8 a.m., Falkville will host the 5K Color Me Downtown Run/Walk. Anyone interested in participating can register by visiting the town’s website. In addition, Falkville is holding a Fall Decoration Contest to help get the town ready for the season. The deadline to submit entries is Sept. 27, and all decorations should be completed by Oct. 6. Judging will take place the week of Oct. 7, and you can find more information and register online. Another exciting event is the 2024 Fall Festival, which will be held Oct. 12 as an all-day event. Vendor registration is now open, with fees set at $25 for arts & crafts or church/business spots, $40 for Food Vendors, and an additional $15 fee for electrical or water hookups. Pop Tab Pandemonium Danville Neel Elementary School is currently competing in Pop Tab Pandemonium, a challenge to collect the most tabs of any Alabama school. The collected tabs will be recycled, and proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Alabama to help keep sick children and their families together when they need to travel for medical care. Additionally, parents of students at Danville Neel Elementary are reminded to label their children’s belongings, including backpacks, water bottles, hoodies, lunchboxes, hats and jackets.
