Ricky M. Steele
Funeral service for Ricky M. Steele, 71, will be Saturday, September 14,
2024 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Hale officiating
and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery (Morgan
County).
Mr. Steele died on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Cullman Regional Medical
Center. He was born September 7, 1953, in Lawrence County, to Sherman
Steele and Annie Powell Smith Steele.
Ricky was a simple man who loved God and his family. He attended Mill Creek
Baptist Church and was Baptist in his faith. Ricky was centered in his
faith and his family and loved anything that involved his grandsons and
great granddaughters. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play any sport and
that always put a smile on his face.
He was married to his lifelong love for 50 years. He loved farming, logging,
and any outside activity. He enjoyed a good western, a family get together,
a good church service and was rarely seen without his constant companion,
LJ.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, Hilda Weeks and
Elizabeth Fields and three brothers, Ralph Steele, Gary Steele and Sherril
Steele.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Roberson Steele; sons, Kenny Roberson and Tony Roberson (Casey); daughters, Michelle Atkins (Ian) and Vickie Bennett (Lee)l sisters, Becky Talley (Dean), Dolly Wakefield
and Cheri Steele; six grandchildren and their spouses; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Damon Hester, Bryant Hester, Colton Qualls, Skylar
Bennett, Dakota Bennett and Tristan Bennett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Roberson, Tony Roberson, Ian Atkins, Seth
Dunn, Lee Bennett and Colin Eason.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jelina Peck for all of her help over the past year.
