43rd Depot Days returns Saturday
Main Street and the surrounding area will be closed Saturday and people will converge downtown as the 43rd annual Depot Days festival returns this weekend.
Festival events began this past Sunday with a community worship ser-vice. Down Memory Lane sponsored and organized by the Hartselle Historical Society was held Monday. A 5K race was scheduled for this past Saturday to kick off the weeklong celebration but was rescheduled due to the threat of severe weather. The race is scheduled for Oct. 5.
The main festivities will return Saturday in downtown Hartselle and will include more than 200 vendors, an antique car show, two children’s areas, an art show, live music from local talent and more. The festivities will be held from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Road closures will begin at 4 a.m. on Saturday with the closure of Main Street. The festival ends at 4 p.m., and roads will reopen once cleanup by the City of Hartselle Public Works department has been finished.
Vehicular traffic will be prohibited in the downtown area on Saturday to ensure the safety of festival attendees.
