Lady Tigers pick up six wins during the week

The Hartselle Lady Tigers went 5-2 last weekend at the Mayor’s Cup in Montgomery. They defeated John Carroll, Carver-Montgomery, Prattville, Saint Luke’s and John Carroll, all by 2-0 scores. They fell to Prattville Christian and Montgomery Academy by 2-0 scores.
Maddy Johnson led Hartselle with 119 assists, 31 digs, 9 aces and 7 kills. Abigail Preuitt had 30 kills and 4 digs, while Lily Douglass added 21 kills.
The Lady Tigers dropped two on the road at Bob Jones on Thursday. They lost 2-0 to the Lady Patriots and James Clemens.
Mary Frances Itsede led the Tigers with 15 digs and 11 kills, while Katie Gillott added 10 digs and nine kills. Maddy Johnson finished with 32 assists and 18 digs.
Earlier in the week, Hartselle swept county rival Brewer 3-0. Douglass and Preuitt had six kills each, while Gillott added five kills, seven digs and a pair of aces.
Priceville The Lady Bulldogs continued their impressive start to the season with a 3-0 sweep of Westminster Christian and a 2-0 win over Decatur Heritage at home on Thursday night. Priceville improved to 19-2 on the season.
Leah Childress led Priceville with 20 digs,19 kills and five aces, while Abby Langlois added 15 kills, eight aces and five digs. Maddi Kennedy had 18 digs and Josie Childress finished with 32 assists, nine digs and a pair of aces.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Bulldogs split with Austin and Lee-Huntsville, defeating Lee 2-0 and losing to Austin 2-0.
Other gsames In other county games last week, Danville went 1-3 with a win over West Point and losses to East Lawrence, Decatur Heritage and Addison. Falkville went 1-1 with an area win over Cold Springs and a loss to Vinemont.
