Volleyball: Priceville wins four

Priceville swept Guntersville and West Point at the Lawrence County 5A Day this past Thursday. They defeated Guntersville 25-20, 25-20 and West Point 25-16, 25-17. Leah Childress led the way with 20 kills and 11 digs, while Abby Langlois had six kills and six aces. Josie Childress added 22 assists and four aces, and Maddi Kennedy had 18 digs.

Earlier in the week, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Scottsboro 25-11, 25-9 and DAR 25-20, 25-13. Abby Langlois led Priceville with 11 kills and three digs, while Leah Childress added eight kills and six digs. Josie Childress had 18 assists and three kills.

Hartselle Hartselle traveled to Madison last Thursday for a tri-match with Buckhorn and Madison Academy. The Lady Tigers, falling to Buckhorn 2-0, while defeating Madison Academy 2-1. Katie Gillott led the way with 13 kills and six aces, while Mary Frances Itsede had 12 kills, seven digs and five blocks. Virginia Kate Hoyle added 27 digs.

This past Tuesday, Hartselle split matches with Cullman and Springville, falling to Cullman 2-0 and defeating Springville 2-1. Katie Gillott led the Lady Tigers with 13 kills, nine digs and two aces.

Danville Danville dropped two matches this past Tuesday at Muscle Shoals, falling to 6A Muscle Shoals 2-0 and 7A James Clements 2-1. Callie Henderson and Wendy Reyes each had 15 kills.
