“The Sanatorium” By Sarah Pearse Elin Warner is taking a break from her job as a detective. She and her boyfriend have been invited to a new posh hotel in the Swiss Alps to celebrate the engagement of Elin’s brother Isaac and his fiancée Laure. The hotel has been renovated from its former purpose as a sanatorium. There is only speculation as to what had occurred there in the past, but Elin feels uncomfortable in the hotel. Her fears are confirmed when Isaac tells them the next morning that Laure never came back to their room the night before. While searching for Laure, they happen upon a body of another woman who has just gone missing. To make matters worse, the police can’t get up the mountain to the hotel because of a snowstorm that has descended. Now Elin has to put her detective skills to the test before someone else ends up dead.
