Danville improves to 2-0 for first time since 2021

The Danville Hawks improved to 2-0 for the first time in four years this past Friday with a 34-14 win over Wilson to start region play 1-0.
The offense shined for the Hawks with 359 yards and five touchdowns. Colby Reed led Danville on the ground with 120 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Ben Ellenburg added 54 yards of rushing, Talon Cross had 52 yards of rushing and one touchdown, and Jace Glenn added 17 yards and a score.
Glenn finished 7-of-10 passing for 116 yards with a touchdown. Ellenburg had two receptions for 45 yards, while John Salvia had a catch for 34 yards and a touchdown.
Mitchell Owens and Matthew Tidwell led the defense with 10 tackles each. Cole Flowers added eight tackles, and Landon Hanserd had six. Ellenburg added six tackles and an interception.
Danville (2-0) will host Deshler (0-2) on Friday.
