As a child of the 1940s, Lee moved many times with his dad’s work. They lived in Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and California. He fell in love with Wyoming and wanted to retire there.
After graduating from high school in Victorville, California he went to Antelope Valley Junior College. After two years, he enlisted in the Air Force where he served for four years. Upon discharge he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked for over 30 years for the Nevada Test Site. Lee often said his most exciting job was at the test site where he was on the team that flew into Mount St. Helen’s in 1980 where they set up photo equipment for the world to see.
He married Patricia Romero in 1972, and they had one son, Eric Allan Borgeson. Patricia died in 1992. In 1996 Lee married Mary Ellen Cooper. They retired in 2000 and moved to Daniel, Wyoming. Lee loved the snow, snowmobiling, skiing, fishing, and hunting. After 22 years, they moved to Hartselle, Alabama due to his failing health, so they could be closer to Mary’s eldest son.
