Priceville opens Parker era with 68-6 win

The Priceville Bulldogs opened the Seth Parker era with a dominating 68-6 win over 6A Columbia this past Thursday. For Parker, it was his first career victory as a head coach. The win also marks the first ever victory over a 6A opponent in school history.
“I think we played well from start to finish but it was our special teams that got us going early with a blocked punt for a touchdown. After that, we were able to settle in and really establish the line of scrimmage on both sides,” coach Seth Parker said. “I was really pleased with the way we ran the ball and how we stopped the run, and all in all I believe that’s why we had success. We have a lot to improve on but it was a good starting point for the season.” The Bulldogs defense and special teams got the scoring started with a three and out and then a blocked punt returned for a touchdown to put Priceville up 7-0.
Priceville piled on 28 more points in the first half to take a 35-0 lead into halftime. Four players scored offensive touchdowns for the Bulldogs in the first half. Colton Madewell had a 48-yard touchdown run, while Bronson Carroll and Zavian Camel added short touchdown runs. Urijah Burnham added a 16-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Sheldon Graham.
Graham added a three-yard touchdown run in the second half as the Bulldogs would tack on 33 more points.
Madewell led the rushing attack with 152 yards and two touchdowns on six car-ries, while Carroll added 117 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Camel had 64 yards rushing and three touchdowns on four carries. The rushing attack finished with 375 yards and six scores.
Graham finished 6-of-12 for 55 yards and a touchdown. Burnham finished with three catches for 36 yards and a touchdown.
Priceville (1-0) will take a short trip down Highway 67 to renew their rivalry with Brewer (0-1). The Friday night match-up will be the team’s first meeting since the Bulldogs 70-0 win in 2021.
