Over the past three weeks, we’ve been studying the Book of Jude, focusing on the importance of contending for our faith in Jesus. Jude warns us to be vigilant because false teachers, disguised as true believers, can infiltrate the church and distort the gospel of Christ. Last week, we discussed the value of looking to the past to avoid repeating mistakes in our walk with God.
As we conclude today, Jude 16-19 reminds us that God has forewarned us about these deceptive individuals. They are described in detail both here and in other parts of Scripture. It’s our responsibility to be well-versed in God’s Word so we can recognize those who attempt to lead us away from the truth. Verses 19-23 guide us on how to respond when we iden tify these divisive figures. We are called to show compassion to those who have been misled and to remind others of the fear of the Lord and the importance of maintaining a strong relation ship with Him. Our primary goal should be to gently correct them and lead them toward repentance.
Finally, in verses 24-25, Jude reminds us that God is all-wise and holds all dominion and power. By depending on Him and His Word from the outset, we can avoid being caught off guard or led astray by false teachings. Where is your focus? I hope this series has been a blessing.
