Are you focused on God?
Last week, we began a series of articles on the book of Jude, explor ing the importance of contending for the faith.
Jude warns us that wolves in sheep’s clothing will infiltrate the church and attempt to distort the gospel of Christ.
Today, we examine verses 5-7, where Jude reminds us of those who failed to follow God’s way and trust in Him. He references the Israelites, whose lack of belief led to their destruction, the angels who abandoned their proper domain and are now bound in everlasting chains, and Sodom and Gomorrah, which suffered the vengeance of eternal fire due to their sexual immorality.
Jude’s examples underscore that, even as these wolves infiltrate the church, we are accountable for our actions and will face the consequences if we stray from God’s Word. He provides clear descrip tions of these wolves and their deceptive ways, showing how they hide in plain sight. Our task is to remain so focused on God that we can recognize these dangers and avoid repeating the mistakes of the past.
Are you focused on God, or are you on a path that leads to a fractured relationship with Him? We’ll conclude our study of Jude next week.
